About the Outpost Campground
The Outpost Campground & RV Park has been welcoming travelers and families to Eastern, KY since 1988. Founded by the late Billy McClain, the Outpost has served as a quaint escape only a few miles from the beautiful Cave Run Lake & tons of hiking in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The grounds currently hosts 80+ full hook-up sites, VIP sites, primitive sites, and the newest venture, Posh Pines (glamping). We are so lucky to have you visit, and hope to leave a lasting impression on your journey.
The Camp Store
The camp store is the staple of our park. Greeted with a welcoming face and stocked with snacks, drinks, last-minute essentials, and plenty of Outpost souvenirs. Feel free to come on in or visit us at our Covid friendly window station (to the right on the main porch).
Billy” McClain
Billy was the visionary founder and owner of the Outpost Campground for 30 years. Travelers that stopped in to meet Billy quickly learned that only two things truly mattered to him. The University of Kentucky Wildcats, and making every person feel like a part of the family. We hope that his legacy still stands true today for all of our guests.
